Full-Time Sandwich Maker

Prepares sandwiches to individual order of customers.
Receives sandwich orders from customers.
Places meat or filling and garnish, such as chopped or sliced onion and lettuce, between bread slices.
Prepares garnishes for sandwiches, such as sliced tomatoes and pickles.
May cook, mix, and season ingredients to make meat, fillings, and spreads.
Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items.
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.
Portion and wrap the food, or place it directly on plates for service to patrons.
Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods.
Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
Weigh or measure ingredients.
Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.
Stir and strain soups and sauces.
Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
Package take-out foods or serve food to customers.
Vacuum dining area and sweep and mop kitchen floor.
Operate cash register, handle money, and give correct change when needed.

Educational Qualifications and Skills Required

High school diploma required
Sanitation certificate preferred
Previous experience in restaurant environment preferred
Must have the ability to do repetitive work without any errors.
Must have excellent inter personal and people skills.
Must deal with customers politely.
Must be dressed neatly.
Must be ready to work varied hours/days and sometimes even on weekends.
Must have the ability to read and write.
